New Photo and a clarification...

Here is a photo of Paul's car. As you can see, the driver's side recieved the impact. The car must have rolled up the tree somehow, because the roof is caved in as well. Depending on the response I get on the blog, I will put out more photos of Paul's car from different angles, but only if people want to see them.

We have recieved some phone calls and emails with questions about Paul's condition, the reason being that we left out a couple important details. First of all, Paul does have an infection, but he is recieving antibiotics for it at this time and his temperature has dropped. At this point, they have not located the infection, so they will have to do some more tests and hopefully locate it. Another question which came up was the extent of blood loss Paul has suffered. At this point, Paul has lost four pints of blood. I do not think that this amount of blood loss signifies anything substantial, or is cause for alarm, except that his injuries were severe. People have commented today that Paul seems to be looking a little better. His skin looks to be getting its color back, and he seems to just look better overall. I am not sure if that is just because we all have been here at the hospital for a week straight and are beginning to see things, but it seems to be the consensus.

Please keep praying!!!

Dear Paul,
We are praying for you, here in Nicaragua, all the school -- everyone. You are in my thoughts and my prayers throughout the day, and your family. I wanted to send you a picture, but I do not know how to do it on here, but there is a chapel here that has walls that are open to the outdoors, so the sun and the wind come in all around. Animals come through too -- birds and bats and a lot of insects, and one gray kitten is there every day. When it rains, sometimes stray dogs come in and stand in the back, for shelter. Jesus is exposed there all the day and all the night, and sometimes if you go in, people are singing songs in there for God and everything is calm. Mass has been said for you a couple of times in this chapel, in the middle of the day, ( and it was sunny those days), and rosaries and other prayers, also. We think about you and love you.
Love,
Lucy

I have been praying for Paul since I heard about the accident monday. I know God will give you all the strength to get through this, just as Paul will make it through. It is amazing to see the responses gathered from other places of the world, you truly are a blessed group of people, never forget that. God bless and get well soon.

Paulie Boy,
All of us at the work place are pulling for you Paul. We all miss your personality and "ladies charm". The power of God and prayer is what will pull you through. Good bless the family and freinds that have come out in support for this fine young man. I will continue to pray for you and do anything I can to help you and your family. God bless you Paul and we will see you back in action again soon.
TCB,
Jon

After seeing the picture of the car, it is only that much more amazing that Paul is still alive and able to fight for his life. I truly believe that God has chosen Paul to teach us all about God's love and plan for each of us. This has opened my eyes to the power of God and prayer. I continue to pray every single day in hopes that we all see Paul back on his feet playing his guitar. We all love you so much Paul...just keep on fighting. Our prayers are also with Paul's family. You've been there for my boyfriend Brad as long as I can remember, and now it's our turn to be there for you. I'm amazed by your family's strength...God bless.

Dear Paul,
We have been praying for you to regain your strength and make it through this test of faith. Everyone that we have talked to and everyone that they have been talking to have been thinking about you. It is our hope that we can help give you so much love and through our positive thoughts help you through this. Your family and friends have been so incredibly strong and have set a wonderful example to all. Their amazing outlook and encouragement for you is a reminder of the simple things in life that should be valued most. We continue to keep tabs on you and are always thinking of you. We love you! Paul,
Marie just sent me the link here, and I want you to know that I really wish you well. Goodness, Paul, you got a new car and everything. I wish there was something I could do aside from this little comment, but please know that I wish I could visit you in the hopsital, and I have full faith that you'll be okay. You're an incredibly healthy and strong guy, and I look forward to seeing you during Christmas.
You're in my thoughts and prayers tonight, regardless of the distance. Get well soon, Paul.

My heart is breaking for all of you! Yes, its the crazy lady from St. Stephen's whose son also drove into a tree on Rockbridge and hurt his brain. Praise God, he is perfectly fine now, but I remember the ICU and Shepherd days vividly. Shepherd is a WONDERFUL facility and i will pray that Paul gets in. Rebecca and Jon, don't worry about the finances as they have many very wealthy benefactors who will help with your costs. I did not pay a penney there, but David was covered under my UHC policy. I'm sitting here with my happy ending, as well as the service dog from Canine Assistants that i am helping to train as a result of the people I met at Shepherd. God is touching many souls with this suffering. I guess he gave it to us because we know how to offer it up and he could do the most good this way. I pray for sanctifying graces to make Paul's friends and family holier and actual graces to get through the weeks and months to come. I know that God did not take us this far to let us down! We are his faithful people and he will answer our prayer for complete healing for Paul! He answered it for my David. That is the only reason he is here with us today.
Love,

Dear Paul and family, I am a friend of your Uncle Keith here in Chicago. After seeing the car I know it is a miracle that you came out of it alive. I pray more miracles will come your way to make you well strong and whole. It looks like a lot of people are holding you in prayer and that is so very powerfull. I have a group of friends who created a prayer circle and I called today and asked you be put in the circle. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers and know G-d will keep you all strong to face these days. Sincerly, Phyllis
